Welcome to English as a New Language (ENL) with Ms. Howard (3K-2) and Ms. Keller (3-5)! We are looking forward to working with the fantastic students of P.S. 369! Our goal is to support your child’s language development across all four domains: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. We work with students both in their classroom and in small groups to build in extra opportunities to practice all of the skills that make them strong communicators. This year, we hope to engage students our students in a variety of activities, from lunchtime Language & Culture Club to community service projects, and we are also involved in several school-wide initiatives:
“Mommy and Me” ENL Classes: We are very excited to lead this new after-school program that provides Pre-K and Kindergarten parents/guardians with the opportunity to learn more about helping their child with schoolwork while practicing English language skills. Each Tuesday, we meet from 2:40 pm-3:15 pm to sing, read, play, and share academic strategies with a group of 10 students and their family members. We hope to expand this program to include more grades soon!
We are here to be a resource for you and your children. Please feel free to reach out to us if you have questions, concerns, or needs that we can help meet!
